Evolutionary changes in a population can be derived to the following evolutionary processes: Mutation, genetic drift, selection and migration. During the course Evolutionary processes we will take a close look at each of these processes, with emphasis on evolutionary changes in natural populations and how such changes can affect speciation. We will focus on both ecological and genetic tools to study and understand evolutionary dynamics in natural systems.
During the course you will gain a good insight into ecological genetics, including quantitative genetics, as well as a solid base for further studies within evolution and genetics. The course has a close connection to research at the Evolutionary Biology Centre.
