MEME asks a participation fee from all its students. The amount asked depends on the country of origin of the student. We follow the classification of the EU, which classifies students as either Category A (= students from so-called ‘Partner Countries’) and Category B (= students from ‘Programme Countries). Roughly speaking, Category B refers to EU students (EU plus a few other countries) while Category A refers to non-EU students.
The MEME participation fee amounts to € 9,000 per year for Category A students and to € 4,500 per year for Category B students. This fee includes all tuition fees that have to be paid when registering at a MEME partner university (including Harvard University) and provides students access to all university facilities, such as libraries, ICT infrastructure, laboratories and working places.
In addition, the MEME participation fee covers the costs of one (local)language course per semester, and many other costs associated with participating in MEME courses, excursions or summer schools. The participation fee does not cover expenses for travel and accommodation (see the MEME Study Guide for details).
Self-funding students who cannot afford the full MEME participation fee can apply for a partial participation fee waiver. The number of such waivers per cohort is limited. More detailed information will be given when the student is accepted to the programme.
